TikTok Stitch and Duet brand deal rates
Figures and workflows here are illustrations, not financial, tax, or accounting advice. Talk to a tax or finance specialist in your jurisdiction before you invoice, set payment terms, or treat a number as a rate you should charge.
Why brands ask for Stitch or Duet
Brands use Stitch when they want your face reacting to their own ad, a UGC test, or a news clip that already has comments. Stitch pulls at most five seconds from the original video — your reaction is the rest. They use Duet when they want split-screen proof — you and the product demo running together. Neither format is “easier” for you if they send a 40-second talking-point list, require on-screen text they wrote, or insist you hit a posting window tied to a launch. The creative shortcut only exists when you choose the parent clip and keep a short, authentic reaction.
Your rate card should treat these as named SKUs under native video, not as a vague “engagement post.” Creators who lump Stitch into the same line as a full native shoot either undercharge (and resent the brief) or overcharge and lose the deal to someone who understands the ladder. The fix is a published multiplier table and a clear refuse line when the brief is actually a native in Stitch clothing.
Stitch / Duet vs native ladder
Start from your organic native fee — the same number you would put on a TikTok rate card or a micro brand-deal package. Then step down only for true reaction work. Step back up when they script the reaction, require props, or ask for Spark on the posted ID.
| SKU | What you deliver | Vs native 1.0× | Example @ $450 native |
|---|---|---|---|
| Native video | You write hook, film, 1 revision | 1.00× | $450 |
| Stitch — soft react | ≤15s react, you pick tone, their clip approved | 0.50× | $225 |
| Stitch — scripted points | Talking points + CTA, still Stitch format | 0.70× | $315 |
| Duet — split demo | Timed split-screen with their demo clip | 0.65× | $293 |
| Duet — hard sell | Scripted demo + claim language | 0.85× | $383 |
| Any + Spark 30 days | Organic SKU + Spark on that ID | +0.50× of that SKU | See worked quote |
If they require a second Stitch after comments, that is a second SKU — not a free “optimize.” Cap at one revision on your reaction segment.
Worked quote: launch-week Stitch + Spark
Inputs: your native is $450. Brand sends a product clip they own (Stitch uses up to 5s of that source; your reaction carries the CTA), wants three talking points and a soft CTA, posting within 5 days of launch, and 30-day Spark on the Stitch ID. They first offered “$150 because it’s just a reaction.”
| Line | Math | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| Stitch — scripted points | 0.70 × $450 | $315 |
| Spark 30 days on Stitch ID | 0.50 × $315 | $158 |
| Source clip licensing (their asset) | Included if they own it | $0 |
| Extra Stitch if first underperforms | Not included | Refuse / new SOW |
| Total to send | Two invoice lines | $473 |
| Their $150 all-in | Refuse | Send ladder + total |
Round to clean numbers if you prefer ($320 + $160 = $480). Keep Spark as its own line so they cannot claim ads were “included.”
What to refuse in the same thread: Spark on any future video they choose, Duet “thrown in,” and a second reaction if the first does not hit a view target. View targets are not part of organic Stitch pricing unless you sold a performance bonus separately — and most creators should not.
Source clip, comments, and risk
Always name who supplies the parent video. If it is their ad creative, they warrant they own or licensed it. If it is a third-party viral clip, you need written comfort or you walk — Stitching a random creator’s video for a brand is how you inherit drama. Put a one-line warranty in the SOW; it costs nothing and stops “we thought you cleared it.”
Comment management is not free labor. A soft react that draws argumentative threads is still your inbox. Cap obligated reply time (for example, pin one brand reply, no 48-hour comment moderation retainer) unless they buy a community management add-on. Brands that want you to argue with skeptics in comments are buying reputation insurance, not a Stitch.
Disclose
Paid partnership label still applies. “Just a reaction” does not dodge disclosure when money or free product with a brief is involved.
Posting window
Give a 3–7 day window after asset delivery. Same-day Stitch on launch morning is a rush fee (+15–25%), not goodwill.
Median views
Price off your 30-day median for similar formats when you have Stitch history; otherwise use native median and apply the ladder above.
What Stitch / Duet pricing is not
- Not a free sample before a native campaign — if they want learning, sell a multi-video package as a separate product.
- Not the same as a 2–3 native series discount ladder (that lives on the multi-video package guide).
- Not automatic Spark, whitelist, or paid usage on cutdowns.
- Not permission to re-upload your reaction to their ads account without a usage line.
Keep native, Stitch, Duet, and Spark visible on one card. When a brand says “just Duet our founder,” send the Duet row and the Spark row. When they say “three videos testing hooks,” send them to a series package — different spine, different kill fees, different revision math. Mixing those conversations is how $225 reactions turn into unpaid native shoots.

TikTok Stitch and Duet rate questions
+Should a paid TikTok Stitch cost less than a native brand video?
Usually yes on creative hours — often 0.45–0.75× your native fee — but not “half for free” if they pick the source clip, demand talking points, or want Spark. A scripted Stitch with their B-roll is closer to native.
+Is Duet priced the same as Stitch for brand deals?
Duet is usually 0.05–0.15× higher than a comparable Stitch because you share the frame and timing is tighter. If they require split-screen product demo, quote Duet as its own SKU, not a rename of Stitch.
+Can brands Spark a sponsored Stitch or Duet?
Only if the Spark grant is on your posted video ID and the SOW says so — and every creator who appears in the Stitch or Duet must authorize Spark on their side, not just you. Spark is never included in the reaction fee by default. Price Spark like a native: often +40–60% of the organic Stitch/Duet line for 30 days.
+What if the brand wants me to Stitch their competitor’s viral clip?
Refuse or re-quote as risk work. You are attaching your face to someone else’s IP and comments. Either they supply a licensed clip or you charge a native-level fee plus a clear “no competitor bait” clause.
+How is Stitch/Duet different from a 3-video TikTok package?
Packages sell a series of native posts with posting windows and which IDs get Spark. Stitch/Duet is a reaction format SKU — one clip relationship, not a multi-video learning ladder. Do not apply series discounts to a single reaction.
+How many revisions on a branded Stitch?
One round on your reaction segment. Asking you to re-cut the source clip, change the parent video, or film a second reaction angle is a new line item.
List Stitch and Duet as separate SKUs
BlueRateCard packages can show Native, Stitch, Duet, and Spark as distinct lines so brands stop treating reactions as free add-ons. Free for creators.
