Instagram broadcast channel sponsorship rates
Figures and workflows here are illustrations, not financial, tax, or accounting advice. Talk to a tax or finance specialist in your jurisdiction before you invoice, set payment terms, or treat a number as a rate you should charge.
What broadcast sponsorship sells
Instagram broadcast channels let you push messages to members who joined that channel. A sponsorship blast is a branded update in that feed — sometimes with polls, voice notes, or links where available. Reach is smaller than a viral Reel, but intent is higher: these people opted in. Brands that want “access to your community” without paying Story rates are shopping for underpriced channel inventory.
Sell blasts by unit (one message or a short sequence), disclose approximate members, and keep public Stories and Close Friends as separate lines. Channel members punish hard-sell spam — price intimacy, then protect frequency.
Channels also differ from email lists and Telegram communities: Instagram controls features, link behaviour, and discovery. Quote what you can deliver today — voice, poll, text, image — and avoid promising tap destinations that your account type cannot attach. When a brand insists on a tracked URL, pair the blast with a paid Story sticker the same day rather than inventing a broken channel CTA.
Spine: broadcast blast vs Story ladder
Anchor on your public Story sequence fee, then place channel SKUs honestly. Member count drives the multiplier more than total followers.
| SKU | Audience | Vs public Story seq | Example @ $245 Stories |
|---|---|---|---|
| Public 3-frame Story sequence | Story openers | 1.0× | $245 |
| Channel blast — text + link (~1.2k members) | Channel members | 0.55× | $135 |
| Channel blast — voice + poll + CTA | Channel members | 0.70× | $172 |
| Channel mini-takeover (3 blasts / 24h) | Channel members | 1.4× one blast | $190–$240 |
| CF 3-frame (~200 list) | Close Friends | 0.70× | $172 |
| Channel + public Stories same day | Both | Sum | $380 |
| Hard-sell script tone on channel | Channel | 1.0× Stories or refuse | $245+ |
Under ~300 members: disclose and either raise the trust premium or steer brands to Stories. Tiny channels are not mega CPM inventory.
Worked quote: product drop channel blast
Brand wants one voice-note + poll + CTA blast to ~1,200 members, member range disclosed, no paid usage, optional public Story same day.
| Line | Amount |
|---|---|
| Channel blast — voice + poll + CTA (~1.2k) | $172 |
| Member range disclosed in SOW | Included |
| No paid usage / no ad screenshots | Default |
| Optional: public 3-frame Stories same day | +$245 |
| Total channel-only | $172 |
| Refuse | No unlimited blasts that month; cap brand slots |
Brands that want “daily channel reminders for two weeks” buy a takeover package — re-quote; do not stretch one blast fee.
One revision on the talking points. Channel audiences punish corporate rewrites. If they need a full ad script, charge public Story rates or refuse the channel SKU.
Frequency, links, and proof
- Cap branded channel slots per month on the rate card (e.g. 2–4).
- Disclose member range + pull date in every SOW.
- Links/stickers inside channel messages are part of the blast — not free bio days.
- Screenshots for brand reporting OK; screenshots for ads need usage.
- Same-day Stories remain a separate line — see Stories rates.
If Instagram limits link types in channels for your account type, say so before you quote. Do not sell a tap CTA you cannot deliver — fall back to code + Story sticker as a named add-on pair.
What broadcast sponsorship is not
Not public Stories
Different reach surface. Use the Stories rates guide for frame-count and stickers.
Not Close Friends
CF is green-star Stories intimacy. Channels are a separate opted-in feed — see CF rates.
Not whitelist inventory
Channel blasts are organic community posts unless paid usage is contracted.
List broadcast as its own row under Instagram add-ons. When brands say “just post it to your people,” ask which SKU: Stories, CF, or channel — then quote the matching line.
Refuse unlimited monthly blasts that turn the channel into a coupon feed. Refuse “test posts” that are free because the brand wants to “see engagement first.” Refuse ad screenshots without a usage line. Your channel is a rented list with a monthly brand cap — treat it like inventory you can burn, not a dumping ground for every leftover brief that missed the Story budget.

Broadcast channel sponsorship questions
+How much should an Instagram broadcast channel sponsorship cost?
Price off channel member count and blast frequency, not follower count. A working start: one branded blast ≈ 0.4–0.7× a comparable public Story sequence when members are engaged fans; raise toward 0.9× if the channel is your highest-converting list.
+Is a broadcast channel blast the same as a public Story?
No. Stories hit people who open the tray; channel blasts hit members who opted into that feed. Different reach, different trust. Do not substitute a free channel post for a paid Story sequence without re-quoting.
+Do I disclose broadcast channel member size to brands?
Yes — as a range with a pull date (e.g. 1,100–1,300 members as of 6 Oct 2026). Selling “my channel” with 80 people as if it were 5,000 is a trust problem.
+Broadcast channel vs Close Friends Stories — which rates apply?
CF is a private Story audience; broadcast is a one-to-many channel feed. CF often prices on intimacy; channels on member count × blast. Keep separate SKUs — see the Close Friends rates guide for CF math.
+Can brands screenshot channel messages for ads?
Organic channel only unless paid usage is written. Screenshots into Meta ads need a usage line. Channel intimacy is part of what you sold — do not gift ad creative.
+How many branded blasts per month before the channel mutes me?
Cap brand slots (e.g. 2–4/month) on the card. Over-selling turns a fan channel into spam. Raise the fee as frequency rises, or refuse volume deals that burn the list.
