How many revision rounds to put on your rate card

Unlimited revisions are how a $650 Reel becomes a weekend residency. Print a round count on every package, define what a round is, and price extras before the brief arrives.

Figures and workflows here are illustrations, not financial, tax, or accounting advice. Talk to a tax or finance specialist in your jurisdiction before you invoice, set payment terms, or treat a number as a rate you should charge.

Put “1 revision round included; extras $100” on the Starter tier so the second list is expected.

Card copy you can paste

  • “1 revision round = one consolidated feedback list within 48 hours of first cut.”
  • “Feedback after the included rounds is $___ per round.”
  • “Script or concept changes after shoot approval = requote.”

Legal review loops

If their counsel needs a third pass on claims, that is an extra round or a pause — not free forever polish.

When they keep expanding deliverables, use the scope-creep guide — revisions are not the same as new SKUs.

Revision round questions

+What counts as one revision round?

One consolidated written feedback list, then you deliver one revised cut. Five Slack nips over three days are not five rounds — and they are not free either. Ask for one list.

+How many rounds should a standard Reel package include?

One. Multi-asset campaigns can include two. Never “unlimited until approved.” That is an open edit job.

+How much is an extra revision round?

A common add-on is $80–$150 flat, or ~15–25% of a small SKU. Put the number on the card so brands stop fishing for free polish.

+Is a new concept a revision?

No. New hook, new location, new claim, or new SKU after you filmed is a reshoot / new quote — not round two.

+Should revisions appear on the media kit or the rate card?

Dollars and round counts live on the rate card (or SKU block). The kit can mention that revisions are limited.

Lock rounds on the package line

BlueRateCard packages can state inclusions clearly so brands pick a tier instead of inventing edit loops. Free for creators.
