How to price Instagram Collab posts

Collab invites make a Reel show on two grids. That is distribution, not a free tag. Put Collab as its own SKU or uplift so brands cannot treat dual posting as included in a solo rate.

Figures and workflows here are illustrations, not financial, tax, or accounting advice. Talk to a tax or finance specialist in your jurisdiction before you invoice, set payment terms, or treat a number as a rate you should charge.

Card lines that prevent mush

  • “Collab invite to @brand: +25% or $___ flat.”
  • “Acceptance of Collab invite after payment clears.”
  • “Removing Collab / declining invite after shoot = kill fee rules apply.”

Creator × creator Collab

Each influencer needs pay unless the brief is truly barter — write both fees.

Reach myths

Collab does not guarantee the brand’s full audience. You are still selling your work + the invite mechanic.

Instagram Collab pricing questions

+What is an Instagram Collab post for rate cards?

A post where you invite another account (often the brand) so the content can appear on both profiles — Instagram allows up to five collaborators on one post. It is not the same as tagging them in a caption. Price each invite and dual distribution explicitly.

+Should a Collab cost more than a solo Reel?

Often yes — you are sharing distribution and sometimes creative control. A working uplift is +15–30% over your solo Reel, or a flat Collab add-on. If the brand’s audience is the point, do not gift it.

+Who pays if both creators are influencers in a Collab?

Each creator needs a fee line unless one is gifted exposure only (usually a bad deal). Brands funding both should see two invoices or one split SOW — not “you two figure it out.”

+Does Collab replace whitelisting?

No. Collab is organic distribution mechanics. Ads from your handle still need a whitelist/Partnership line.

+How many revisions on a Collab Reel?

Same as solo: one round unless you sell two. Brand legal on both sides can burn rounds — price extras.
